History Society@Kingston

The History Society is run by current university students and opens itself to all students with an interest in History or related disciplines such as Politics, History of Art and Architecture and History of Ideas.

Aims

The Society aims to provide a wide range of social and other activities during the academic year. Visits have included places of historical interest such as the Houses or Parliament, the Surrey History Centre and Hampton Court. Other events have included talks from Kingston university lecturers in addition to external guest speakers. We regularly hold social events such as the annual pub quiz and inter-society bowling, as we realise the benefits to having a socially engaging experience during your time at Kingston.

The History Society is well attended by those who have a general interest in any aspect of history, not just those undertaking a History degree. All suggestions for new events and visits are gladly received to ensure that everyone’s interests are catered for. Postgraduate students are also very welcome to become involved in the activities of the History Society.
